Allergology and Immunology Update

24.01.2025 - 25.01.2025 Interlaken

On behalf of the SSAI and PD Dr. med. Lukas Jörg and his team, we are pleased to announce the SAVE THE DATE for the 27th Allergology and Immunology Update in January 2025.

Unfortunately, the AIU will no longer take place in Grindelwald. The Codex Secretariat has conducted an independent assessment regarding the hosting of the AIU in Grindelwald and concluded that events taking place between December 20th and March 31st are considered "non-compliant" for mountain destinations.

The SSAI has explored various options and decided to maintain the timing of the event at the end of January and change the venue. We have found a suitable location with the Interlaken Congress and Kursaal, which is still located in the Bernese Oberland but no longer directly in a ski resort.

The AIU will start on Friday, January 24th, 2025, at noon and extend until the evening of Saturday, January 25th, 2025, affording participants the Sunday for leisure and personal activities.

Here's where everything will take place:

  • Registration and Reception: Auditorium
  • Sponsor Exhibition: Auditorium
  • Friday Sandwich Lunch: Auditorium
  • Friday Symposia: Auditorium

  • Saturday Evening Special Lecture: Old part of the Interlaken Congress and Kursaal
  • Saturday Evening Dinner: Old part of the Interlaken Congress and Kursaal

Changes for participants:

  • The AIU will start on Friday noon instead of in the afternoon and will end on Saturday evening with the Special Lecture and Dinner.
  • The program for Sunday morning is cancelled, and Sunday is available to participants.
  • You are still allowed to bring accompanying persons and/or family members. You can also register them for meals, which are chargeable.
  • Participants can no longer avail discounts on hotel bookings through sponsorship. However, they will benefit from a reduced participation fee. Hotel rooms can be booked directly by participants via an online platform provided by the Interlaken Congress Center or any other platform.
  • Workshops will be recorded.
  • Full credit points will only be awarded for complete attendance of the AIU.
  • The main venue will be in the auditorium and the old part of the Interlaken Congress and Kursaal, where lectures, breaks, meals, and workshops will take place.

We are delighted to provide you with an AIU experience near the mountainous region, despite the shift in venue, and we sincerely appreciate your support and participation in upholding the spirit of AIU in Interlaken.

We kindly ask you to mark the dates of January 24, 2025, and January 25, 2025, in your agenda.

Further information regarding the program and registration page will be sent out towards the end of the summer. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at office@ssai.ch.
